• A Christ-centred and Child-initiated Early Years Education

Philosophy

We can see the beauty of God’s creation all around us. We can see that He is a God of power, but also a God of beauty and design. We—and children too–are the work of His hands. He made each one of us fearfully and wonderfully in His image. The work of God in our life is unique. Therefore, we value and respect that each child is a unique individual.

In caring for and guiding children’s behavior, we ensure their safety and help them in developing their self-esteem, self-control, and sensitivity in their play and interactions with others.

We aim to learn and grow together with the children on their journey of growth, change and development through their discoveries of self, others and God, and through relationship and interaction with one another.

We see the children as resourceful, creative and inspired people full of curiosity and sense of wonder. We aim to nurture them, their thoughts and ideas, by posing open-ended questions and inviting them to discover their potential for learning. With love and strength that God has given to us, we teach and learn. With patience and hope, we care and guide them.

We believe that children learn through creative play and so, beyond simply providing toys, we program activities that stimulate their cognitive, socio-emotional and physical development.

We seek to support and work alongside parents and caregivers to teach and nurture their children so that they might grow holistically – physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually – into the beauteous likeness of Christ.

Also, while we recognize that our students may come from different cultural and religious backgrounds, the Christian faith is central in our teachings and interactions.

Above all, God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, controls this entire educational ministry, empowering the teachers and parents as well as guiding the children to all truth, into maturity in Christ.
